The commercial tire Goodyear Cargo G28 is distinguished by very high economic efficiency. The North American manufacturer positions it as a real "workhorse", in which there are no expensive technologies, instead of which simple but exceptionally effective solutions were used. Thanks to them, this model is favorably distinguished by high load-carrying capacity, reliability and a very long service life.
Tread providing excellent handling and ride
One of such simple but effective solutions is the design of the tread pattern. It contains only four longitudinal ribs. The reduction in the number of individual elements allowed the North American tire makers to significantly increase their size. In combination with a solid construction, such tread ribs, on the one hand, increase the contact patch size and thus handling and traction, and on the other hand, optimize pressure distribution across it. This, in turn, increases the tire's load-carrying capacity and prevents uneven wear, which significantly extends the life of the tread.
Reliable traction and handling on wet roads
All tread ribs, which, due to the increased tread depth, have a significant internal volume. This allows the tire to demonstrate one of the most popular "signature" features of Goodyear's tire products, namely increased resistance to aquaplaning. In addition, the occurrence of this effect is largely prevented by numerous lamellas. They not only form multiple additional traction edges but also direct water into one of the nearby drainage grooves.
Key features of Goodyear Cargo G28
- optimized tread pattern with four wide and solid longitudinal ribs improves traction on dry roads, increases load-carrying capacity, prevents uneven wear, reduces fuel consumption;
- increased tread depth and significant width of drainage grooves provide the tire with excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
