Description Gislaved Speed 516
Gislaved Speed 516 — a universal all-season model designed for those who cannot afford to change tires with the seasons but are not willing to compromise on safety. It stably holds wet and snowy roads, capable of intense braking on any slippery surface.
Dense lamella cutting
The tread pattern has a very dense network — the number of lamellas per unit area is noticeably higher here than that of most competitors. When contacting a slippery surface — be it ice, rolled snow, or wet asphalt — the sharp edges work like many micro-studs. They firmly fix the contact area. As a result, we get excellent longitudinal traction during acceleration and high braking intensity on any slippery surface.
Shoulder zone design
The "shoulders" of the model — large blocks with a diagonal arrangement are located here. Such geometry significantly increases stability and steering accuracy in turns. The elements do not "wander" and do not fold, the contact patch remains stable. In addition, this design prevents uneven wear. The result is an even wear across the entire tread and, as a consequence, increased durability.
Runability in harsh modes
The model has a reinforced carcass — an increased number of cord layers and a denser breaker strip. This directly increases resistance to punctures. The rubber compound has also been improved. It contains components that increase resistance to wear. And the compound itself retains elasticity at low temperatures, necessary for all-season operation. As a result, the tire demonstrates high runability.
Key features of Gislaved Speed 516:
- operation on passenger cars in a year-round mode;
- dense lamella cutting in the shape of an "X" provides stable traction on wet and snowy surfaces, as well as intense braking;
- optimized carcass strength and improved compound increase runability in the most difficult operating conditions.
