Active Traction Edges

To provide stability when cornering, the developer equipped the lateral zone of the tread with special blocks with additional traction edges. They firmly hold the vehicle, preventing lateral skidding.
Lamella System
Particular attention was paid to the lamella system during the development of the tread, which guarantees the rapid removal of water and snow masses. This prevents the appearance of the slushplaning and aquaplaning effect.

My first friction tire, I was surprised by the predictable behavior, in my opinion, the car is more interesting to drive than on studded tires, it doesn't skid when starting from a standstill, it's hard to make it drift, and it's very confident on the highway. For warm weather on asphalt, it's probably too soft. I bought it for the interseason period, now I'm already thinking of switching to studded tires and won't be buying it again.

I'm satisfied with this tire. It's not my first Gislaved, but it's the first one without studs. Yes, everything is fine. Of course, there are better tires in terms of performance on snowy conditions, but their price is twice as high

I bought a snow tire after a Continental studded tire - keeps the road fine, excellent in the snow, brakes fairly well, the only drawback is that it's not very confident on ice and if the ice is under the snow - well, that's expected for a friction tire. Price/quality ratio is close to ideal.

- The softest tires of the test - Gislaved Soft*Frost 200 - contrary to logic and expectations, performed worse than their competitors on ice. They handle poorly on loose snow. In braking and acceleration on packed snow, they performed quite well, but on turns, they hold the road poorly. On asphalt - a long braking distance and sluggish reactions to steering wheel turns. They are weakly resistant to aquaplaning. Well, the price corresponds to the level of characteristics.
