DescriptionDescription General Tire Grabber UHP
The emergence of powerful and high-speed vehicles with increased passability has led to the appearance of a new category of tires. The well-known North American company General Tire could not stay away from this and released the summer passenger tire General Tire Grabber UHP, capable of providing a high level of safety up to 270 km/h.
This tire is produced in several dozen sizes from 15 to 24 inches, which allows it to be recommended for most modern models of SUVs, crossovers, and pickups.
The design of the V-shaped symmetrical directional tread pattern of the tire is aggressive, which is not surprising for a tire with a W-speed index.
When developing the tread pattern design, the company's engineers faced a difficult task: to provide the tire with high characteristics on the highway and off-road. Therefore, preference was given to the V-shaped scheme of the tread elements. As a result, the General Tire Grabber UHP tire has excellent directional stability and stability when driving at high speeds, thanks to the rigid design of the central rib. Wide diagonal grooves provide high efficiency of water and mud evacuation from the contact patch, which, on the one hand, improves traction on a wet surface, and on the other, allows for more confident movement off-road, thanks to excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread. In addition, the water-dispelling grooves formed the V-shape of the tread design, creating a multitude of separate blocks, the sharp edges of which provide traction on various types of surfaces.
Main features of the General Tire Grabber UHP tire
- V-shaped design of the symmetrical tread pattern with grooves from the center to the shoulder areas provides excellent traction on various types of surfaces in combination with high traction and braking efficiency;
- The rubber compound contains second-generation silicon-containing components, which provide excellent traction on wet roads and high wear resistance;
- Excellent resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to wide diagonal grooves that run from the center to the edges of the tread.

These are the WORST quality tires I've ever driven on in my 16 years of driving. I bought them in size 295/45/20 not because they were cheap, although they are not exactly cheap, I bought them based on information about their durability to fast wear, since the well-known brands can't boast of this feature, except for Michelin, which is also very cheap.
From the very beginning of use, I did not like them by feeling, as I can

I'm really impressed with these tyres. I've always used BF Goodrich AT or Goodyear Wranglers and thought I'd try an alternative as my Freelander only has occasional off-road use. I've found them to be on a par with the highest tyres and they handle better in mud and snow than I thought they would. Highly recommended

These tyres have far outlasted anything I've had on my Volvo XC90. The original Continental tyres lasted a mere 24,000km, the Michelins that I replaced them with only lasted 19,000km, but these are still going strong after 28,000km, and they cost 30% less than the other two brands. I've been very impressed with the wear and would definitely recommend them to anyone else who has a 4x4 tyre muncher.
