The General Tire Grabber AT2 automobile tire is designed for summer operation and is quickly gaining popularity among owners of powerful crossovers.
The AT2 tire is a logical continuation of the development of the General Tire Grabber AT model range, organically fitting into the main concept of the developers. All technical and dynamic characteristics of the model are practically fully consistent with the AT tire, with the only difference being that the specificity of operation in high-speed mode is brought to the fore.
A specially selected rubber compound provides high elasticity and maximum suppression of vibration and shock. Unique, in terms of extensibility and resistance to tearing loads, steel belts allow the use of tires for equipping heavy off-road vehicles. All this is fully borrowed from the predecessor, but the tread design has undergone fundamental changes.
The idea of applying "floating blocks" has proven itself well during the testing of the previous model, and further refinement of the details has made it possible to significantly reduce production costs without deviating from the main concept of safety.
The improved General Tire Grabber AT2 tread consists of asymmetrically located identical blocks. Several (4-6) thin notches that separate the rubber blocks of a specific design give them high lability, which guarantees a high level of comfort when moving at high speed. The tread elements exert minimal resistance to road irregularities. In the event of an emergency stop, the "stretching" blocks of the tread provide an increase in the contact area with the road surface, which significantly affects the reduction of the braking distance and the transmission of braking force.
Main features of the General Tire Grabber AT2 tire
- Specific application (summer tire for equipping powerful off-road vehicles);
- Asymmetric tread pattern and original block design provide a high level of comfort when driving at high speed.
- "Floating" tread blocks have maximum contact with the road surface, and in the event of an emergency stop, they can increase the contact area, which significantly reduces the braking distance;
- High lability of the tread blocks minimizes resistance to external influences (potholes on the road, stony soil), thereby protecting the tire from mechanical damage.
- Even tread wear - a guarantee of a long service life.
