Description General Tire AmeriTrac TR
One of the pride of the North American company General Tire is the all-season passenger tire General Tire AmeriTrac TR, which has an excellent set of consumer and operational qualities, regardless of road conditions.
This tire is designed for various categories of high-crossing vehicles, including all-wheel drive SUVs and pickups. The tire has an almost ideal price-quality ratio, the secret of which lies in the use of extremely simple but very effective solutions.
Despite the fact that the design of the non-directional tread pattern of the General Tire AmeriTrac TR tire is quite simple and unpretentious, the tire shows excellent operational characteristics on various types of surfaces, even in unfavorable weather conditions.
The tread pattern is represented by a central part consisting of three longitudinal ribs and two powerful shoulder zones. All three longitudinal ribs are made of separately standing massive blocks. A distinctive feature of this part of the tread is the different shape of the blocks of the extreme rows. This was done in order to provide high traction and coupling characteristics in both directions of movement, which is an important ability given the purpose of this tire. In addition, on the surface of each block, including the shoulder zones, there are several S-shaped lamellas, the sharp edges of which further improve grip on icy surfaces.
The shoulder zones of the tread are characterized by increased strength. In essence, they are two additional rows of massive blocks, the large height of which is effective when overcoming snowy and muddy off-road sections.
