General Tire Altimax winter plus – a model for use during the winter period on some passenger cars. It is characterized by confident passing of snowy sections, stability on slippery roads, as well as low noise levels.

To develop this model, the American manufacturer used advanced simulation methods, which made the tread the most effective for both harsh climate conditions and mild winters. Its basis is a directional symmetric structure. In its central area, there are two longitudinal ribs with segmentation into separate block formations. Supplemented by a dense network of three-dimensional lamellas, they allow for a stable fixation of the contact zone, reducing the risk of longitudinal and lateral skidding. This has a positive effect on minimizing the braking distance, which has increased driving safety.

The open-type channel system also actively participates in providing traction and grip properties. With its help, moisture, slush, and dirt are quickly evacuated from the contact zone. The result is confident passing of complex winter road sections.
To adapt to low-temperature modes, a special rubber compound is used in the tire, a significant percentage of which is represented by silica. This component not only maintains elasticity at the same level regardless of temperature but also contributes to minimizing wear.
