General Tire Altimax comfort

The summer tire General Tire Altimax comfort is designed for compact and mid-size passenger cars. It is characterized by increased resistance to aquaplaning, fuel-saving properties, and a long service life. It is offered with two variants of the tread pattern.

Asymmetric design

Both tread pattern variants feature an asymmetric arrangement of elements, which form several functional areas. The outer shoulder area improves stability when maneuvering and cornering. The central part, which may contain one or two longitudinal ribs depending on the tread width, provides stability of traction properties at high speeds, handling agility, and fuel efficiency. In turn, the inner shoulder area, consisting of two rows of narrow transverse blocks, gives the tire effectiveness during longitudinal acceleration.

Multifunctional lamellas

A significant part of the tread elements is represented by narrow slits - lamellas. They perform several functions. First and foremost, it is the strengthening of traction properties on wet surfaces by the sharp edges formed by them. At the same time, water is drained from the contact patch into one of the nearby drainage grooves. Additionally, such elements further improve the tire's ride comfort.
