Description Funtoma RoadFun Sport
The Funtoma RoadFun Sport model is an example of how a well-designed carcass structure and optimized tread profile can resolve the contradiction between "sportiness" and "softness".
Dynamics without compromise
The tire demonstrates a short braking distance — 7-9% shorter than that of direct competitors in the segment. This is the result of a precise calculation of the stiffness of the breaker and an optimized temperature regime of the contact patch. Acceleration characteristics are also high: the reduced rolling resistance allows the engine not to waste energy on overcoming internal hysteresis. Handling is precise and predictable. The model responds to the slightest effort without "sticking" and "softness".
How vibrations are dampened
Usually, high-speed tires are prone to a rigid vertical characteristic. Here, a special sidewall architecture with variable stiffness is used. In combination with an elastomeric compound of medium hardness, this provides a smooth ride over bumps and asphalt joints. Damping properties are preserved even under maximum loads.
The formula against melting
The tire uses a hybrid compound with the addition of silica and thermally stable resins. Therefore, the tire does not "melt" even during prolonged movement on hot asphalt. Additives based on modified natural rubber reduce internal friction, which further reduces the heating of the tread.
Evolution of summer design
At first glance, it's a classic summer asymmetric pattern. But upon closer inspection, engineering solutions are visible that distinguish the model from the mass segment.
- the central zone is two longitudinal ribs. They work as stabilizers, and the inclined channels inside them form a "pump" effect. With each wheel rotation, they suck water out of the contact patch. Ring-shaped drainage grooves drain the main volumes of liquid, but it's the small grooves that accelerate drying;
- unlike winter tires, there are no through lamellas here, but there are many short, multidirectional cuts in the central blocks. They work as additional engagement edges on wet asphalt and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.
Key features of Funtoma RoadFun Sport:
- optimized carcass and sidewall design provides comfort on unevenness without loss of precision in handling;
- braking distance is 7-9% better than that of competitors in the same price and speed class;
- the compound does not melt on hot asphalt, retains its grip properties up to +70°C;
- the combination of ring-shaped and inclined channels with lamellas-pumps minimizes the risk of aquaplaning.
