Federal Himalaya Iceo

The Federal Himalaya Iceo tire, like other representatives of the Himalaya family, is designed for operation in winter conditions on modern models of passenger cars. This model is produced in 10 most popular sizes, starting from 155/70R13 and ending with 245/40R18. This tire was specifically created for the unpredictable winter conditions of Northern European countries, including Russia, as well as for Japan, where the use of studded tires is prohibited.

In developing the tread pattern of the Federal Himalaya Iceo tire, all the latest developments available to this well-known Taiwanese manufacturer were used. This model is equipped with a tread featuring an S-shaped symmetrical non-directional pattern with high efficiency on both snowy and icy surfaces, as well as on dry asphalt. Thanks to the presence of four longitudinal grooves, the tread is clearly divided into five functional elements. In the center of the tread, there is a solid longitudinal rib, the high structural stiffness of which made it possible to achieve excellent directional stability.

The two adjacent longitudinal ribs have a fairly complex structure. Each of these ribs consists of two rows of separate blocks, the rectangular shape of which has a large number of angles and straight extended faces. All tread blocks located in the central part are equipped with self-locking S-shaped lamellas, which perform several functions at once. When in contact with the road surface, the lamella walls, due to the S-shaped profile, tightly close between themselves, which makes it possible to significantly increase the stiffness of the tread block, which improved handling on dry asphalt. In addition, when the walls are closed, sharp edges are formed, which significantly improve traction on snow and ice.
