Description Falken Ziex ZE-522
The summer passenger tire Falken Ziex ZE-522 is positioned by the manufacturer as a model designed for powerful passenger cars with a sporty character. At the same time, the tire is distinguished by its very wide applicability, since its size range is represented by several dozen types of sizes with a diameter of 15 to 18 inches. Depending on the size, the tire can have a speed index V or W, which speaks to its exceptional abilities.
Original V-shaped design
This model is equipped with a tread pattern with a classic V-shaped design, which, nevertheless, made it possible to achieve excellent operational characteristics. The tread pattern consists of five longitudinal ribs, if we count the two shoulder zones. The tire's Falken Ziex ZE-522 exceptional course stability and lightning-fast response to steering wheel turns are due to the very wide double rib located right in the center of the tread.
The absence of any breaks made this tread element unusually rigid, which, in fact, gives the tire incredible stability at any speed.
Also, in the central part of the tread, there are two more longitudinal ribs, consisting of separate blocks of a quadrangular shape. Their long sides, located at a significant angle to the direction of motion, provide high acceleration efficiency, especially on wet surfaces. At the same time, they are massive enough not to harm the sporty handling and traction on dry surfaces.
Reinforced shoulder zones
The shoulder zones of this tire's tread have a very original structure. They consist of rectangular and triangular blocks located at a minimum distance from each other. This solution was caused by the desire to make this part of the tread as rigid as possible, but at the same time, saturate it with sharp edges of traction, which would allow increasing the effectiveness of braking. In practice, this resulted in a practically ideal balance between sporty handling and braking properties.
Main features of Falken Ziex ZE-522
- The original V-design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern provides maximum traction on any summer surface;
- Five wide longitudinal ribs, thanks to which it was possible to more evenly distribute the external pressure over the contact patch, which increased the resistance to uneven wear;
- The double central rib, due to its high structural rigidity, provides exceptional course stability, as well as minimal response time to steering wheel turns;
- The excellent performance of the drainage system, consisting of four large-volume longitudinal grooves and numerous transverse channels, made it possible to achieve excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
