From the name of the passenger tire Falken Eurowinter HS439, it becomes clear that it can be considered a winter tire only with certain reservations. This model is designed for operation in conditions of so-called "European" winters, which are characterized by temperatures around zero degrees with frequent fluctuations across this mark. But this does not mean that it is not suitable for use in our country, since in many of its parts, the climatic conditions in winter have a lot in common with Europe.

Since the Falken Eurowinter HS439 model was initially developed with extreme operating conditions in mind, associated with frequent changes in road surface characteristics, it was equipped with an asymmetric tread pattern containing several functional zones. Each of them is designed to solve a certain set of tasks, which provides the tire with excellent universality.
Silica-Enriched Rubber Compound
In addition to the asymmetric tread pattern, a significant part of the tire's traction properties is provided by the rubber compound. Its composition is distinguished by a high content of silicon-containing components, in particular, silica. Thanks to this, the tire's tread has excellent elasticity even at very low temperatures, as well as increased resistance to abrasive wear.
High Degree of Lamilization
Another characteristic feature of the tread pattern of this model is the high content of traction edges. At the same time, most of them are formed not by blocks, but by lamellae located on them, which are cut through the entire depth of the tread. It is also worth noting their wavy shape, which allows the walls of the lamellae to be firmly fixed between each other when in contact with the road, which in turn leads to a significant increase in the stiffness of the blocks. As a result, not only the traction on a slippery road is increased, but also the handling on dry surfaces.
