Description Durun D108
The Durun D108 summer light truck tire was specifically designed for small commercial vehicles that operate mainly on urban roads. The key features of this model are high wear resistance and excellent fuel efficiency. Currently, the tire is offered in 10 sizes for wheels with a rim diameter of 14 and 15 inches.
Tread Pattern
When developing the tread pattern for this tire, the company's specialists preferred to use simple but very effective technical solutions that have been time-tested. It consists of a central part, where two double longitudinal ribs are located, and two shoulder zones, which also have a double structure.
Excellent Directional Stability
Due to the fact that each of the tread ribs, including the shoulder zones, has a double structure, the Durun D108 tire, in fact, has 8 longitudinal tread elements. At the same time, the ribs located in the central part of the tread are characterized by the complete absence of any breaks throughout their length. This made them very resistant to dynamic deformation, thus providing the tire with excellent directional stability.
Low Rolling Resistance
The tread pattern of this model is distinguished by the almost complete absence of separate elements such as blocks, which are present only in the shoulder zones. They are replaced by zigzag edges of longitudinal ribs located in the central part. This allowed to significantly reduce the rolling resistance, while providing good traction and adhesion characteristics on a wet surface.
Large Contact Patch Area
This model is characterized by a very large contact patch area. This was achieved not only by increasing the size of the longitudinal ribs. On the surface of each of them, there are special lamellas that open when in contact with the road surface, thereby increasing the contact patch area.
Main Advantages:
- excellent traction on dry roads, thanks to the large contact patch area;
- high resistance to uneven wear due to the uniform distribution of pressure across the contact patch, provided by the reinforced shoulder zone structure;
- excellent directional stability is ensured by the presence of four longitudinal ribs;
- superior traction characteristics on wet roads, thanks to three wide drainage grooves, which provide high resistance to aquaplaning.
