Description Dunlop SP Ice Sport
The non-studded tire Dunlop SP Ice Sport is one of the new products from the well-known British manufacturer, which has significantly expanded its range of winter tires in recent times. According to the manufacturer, the new tire provides maximum control when driving on any winter surfaces, while providing driving pleasure. At the same time, the tire is perfectly suited for urban conditions, which are characterized by frequently changing road conditions, as well as for out-of-town highways, where the air temperature is significantly lower.
The model owes its name to the same technology. Ice Sport is a three-dimensional lamella and a significantly changed rubber compound. It is precisely these two components that allow the tire to demonstrate excellent traction and coupling characteristics on winter surfaces.
When developing this model, the company's specialists were well aware of the importance of stability when driving on snow and ice. It is this factor that allows you to create a sense of safety, and along with it, get driving pleasure. One of the design solutions designed to solve this problem was the three-dimensional lamella of a zigzag shape.
The composition of the rubber compound of the Dunlop SP Ice Sport tire was selected in such a way as to preserve the elasticity of the tire even at very low temperatures. At the same time, the main attention was paid to ensuring maximum coupling. The new compound included not only silica, but also polymers and soot. As a result, it was possible to achieve stable and reliable handling in cold weather.
To combat aquaplaning and slushplaning, the tread of this model has a V-shaped directional pattern.
The main features of the Dunlop SP Ice Sport tire
- The multi-radius tread features an exceptionally even distribution of load across the contact patch;
- The special design of the tire's sidewalls provides high maneuverability;
- The breaker layer, wound using seamless technology, reduces deformation when driving at high speeds;
- 4D lamellas significantly increase the rigidity of the tread blocks, which significantly improved handling characteristics;
- The new rubber compound has a high silica content, as well as special polymers and soot, which provides excellent coupling at low temperatures without compromising wear resistance.
