Released by the world-renowned and respected Japanese manufacturer, the Dunlop GrandTrek ST1 all-season tire is designed for use on high-performance vehicles, including crossovers, pickups, and SUVs.
This tire was created with the help of computer-aided design tools, which largely determined its exceptional balance of characteristics. One of the distinctive features of the Dunlop GrandTrek ST1 tire is the double central rib with zigzag edges. This has achieved excellent handling, as well as significantly reduced the tire's response time to steering wheel turns. In addition to the solid rib, two more ribs consisting of massive blocks of original shape are located in the central part of the tread.
At the same time, the blocks have different sizes. A characteristic feature of these blocks is their differently directed cuts, which, in combination with the S-shaped cuts of the blocks located in the shoulder areas of the tread, provide good traction and coupling characteristics when moving on snowy or icy roads. Additionally, the different sizes and uneven spacing of the blocks have significantly reduced the noise level, thereby increasing the comfort of movement.
It is also worth noting the tire's remarkable ability to resist aquaplaning, the occurrence of which is effectively prevented by five longitudinal drainage grooves and a system of transverse and diagonal channels. Moreover, the sufficient distance between the blocks has provided decent self-cleaning capabilities of the tread, which has significantly improved the tire's passability on snow and mud.
Main features of the Dunlop GrandTrek ST1 tire
- Thanks to the double solid rib located in the center of the tread, excellent course stability, quick response to steering wheel turns, and low rolling resistance are ensured;
- A low noise level is ensured by the different sizes and uneven spacing of the tread blocks;
- Ideal balance of characteristics is achieved due to the unique design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern.
