The winter non-studded tire Dunlop GrandTrek SJ6 is another successful attempt by the renowned British manufacturer to create an ideal tire for any weather conditions. This model, like its predecessor, the GrandTrek SJ5 tire, is designed for SUVs, crossovers, and pickups.
This model is equipped with a V-shaped symmetrical directional tread pattern created using the innovative Digityre-II technology, which involves the widespread use of computer modeling tools. Thanks to the V-shaped tread design, the tire has a very extensive contact patch area that does not change depending on the driving mode. At the same time, the contact patch has a very smooth surface with a 10-step profile.
This has made it possible to ensure not only excellent traction on slippery surfaces but also significantly reduce rolling resistance, which has led to a reduction in fuel consumption. Another distinctive feature of the Dunlop GrandTrek SJ6 model is the presence of a large number of individual blocks in the central part of the tread, which have massive dimensions and a quadrangular shape. In combination with the V-shaped arrangement of the blocks, this has made it possible to ensure a more even distribution of load across the contact patch, which has led to a reduction in the likelihood of uneven wear and, therefore, to an increase in the service life.
Another advantage of the block-based tread pattern is the blocks themselves, or rather the numerous edges formed by them, which effectively grip any slippery surface and also provide traction on unstable loose soils. At the same time, the blocks located in the shoulder zones are distinguished by their massive dimensions, height, and quadrangular shape, which adds confidence when overcoming deep snow cover.

I have a 4-wheel drive bus, and in Crimea the winter is mild, with very little snow - especially in Sevastopol. But I still prioritized the tire that would grip best in the snow and in the mud! So, after going to ski on Mount Ai-Petri on a sheet of ice, on the rear axle it drove fine, but in turns it would skid, and I had to slow down and get speed up, I then connected 4WD from standstill

Ex-summer tyres are super. I haven't used studded tyres for a long time. The mounting strip is extremely soft. There's no noise at all. Snow and ice - great! Braking is predictable. After wear, almost imperceptible at around 3500 km. This winter, the asphalt has been almost open. For heavy 4x4s - just what's needed! I'm personally very satisfied. Price and quality, I think it's better and there is nothing

I decided to put a set of these tires on my tank. Joy knew no bounds until the first ice. As soon as the ice started, especially the ones covered in snow, I regretted not buying studded tires.
