Description Dunlop GrandTrek PT3A
The Dunlop GrandTrek PT3A tire is designed specifically for SUVs and crossovers that are primarily operated on paved roads. As a High Terrain model, it is characterized by excellent directional stability at high speeds, traction properties on wet surfaces, fuel efficiency, and acoustic comfort.
Improved tread design
The tire was designed taking into account the characteristics of the previous model. For this, it was necessary to significantly change the tread pattern. While remaining symmetrical and non-directional, it contains much more spacious longitudinal drainage grooves, which made it possible to significantly reduce the risk of aquaplaning. Another change was the increased stiffness of the central longitudinal ribs. These elements are resistant to deformation even under significant lateral acceleration forces, which is why the tire demonstrates improved directional stability and high maneuverability.
Reliable predictable behavior in complex situations
The above-mentioned properties are also largely ensured by the tread profile. In a side projection, its shape is rounded with a different radius, selected using modern computer modeling methods, so that the contact patch is as rectangular as possible. At the same time, the shoulder zones of the tread have increased stiffness, which means that the traction properties are little affected by changes during maneuvering and cornering.
Key features of Dunlop GrandTrek PT3A
- longitudinal grooves of increased volume reduce the risk of aquaplaning;
- solid tread ribs in the center improve directional stability;
- optimized profile shape improves traction properties, provides reliable predictable behavior in complex situations.
