The all-season passenger tire Dunlop GrandTrek MT2, produced by one of the most famous British tire manufacturers, is rightfully considered one of the most successful tires designed for off-road vehicles and special equipment. This model has a very narrow specialization, which is indicated by the "MT" prefix in its name. This means "mud terrain", i.e. the tire is designed for operation on such unstable soils as mud, sand, clay, wet grass.
The design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern of the tire is distinguished by a large number of massive and high blocks. The key feature of the tire's tread is the bidirectional arrangement of all its elements. This solution provides equal levels of traction and adhesion in both directions of movement, which significantly improves the tire's ability to overcome difficult terrain. Another important factor affecting passability is the tread's self-cleaning indicators. The tire is in perfect order in this regard, thanks to the impressive distance between all the tread blocks. Since the tire is designed for operation mainly on rough terrain, particular attention was paid to its durability during development. To this end, the tire's carcass has a reinforced multilayer structure, which provides not only high strength but also excellent elasticity. The composition of the rubber mixture was also selected with regard to the harsh specifics of using this tire. Thanks to the use of special components, the rubber mixture gave the tire excellent resistance to wear, as well as to punctures and cuts.
