Description Dunlop D306
The Dunlop D306 summer motorcycle tire was created specifically for scooters and other compact motorcycles with a vintage or classic exterior. Nevertheless, the authentic design of the tread pattern did not hinder the excellent traction properties of this model, including on wet asphalt.
Large contact patch sizes
This tire owes its excellent traction properties to a large contact patch size. Moreover, its shape remains unchanged even at significant scooter lean angles. This was achieved through a carefully calculated tread profile and an enhanced tire carcass design that resists dynamic deformation.
Excellent traction properties in all conditions
Another feature of this model is its excellent traction properties. They are provided by numerous traction edges formed by a large number of curved grooves. Additionally, a significant portion of them is located transversely in the shoulder areas of the tread. This location and direction of arrangement allow for a significant increase in traction properties in the longitudinal direction, especially on slippery roads. This is because this part of the tire bears the maximum load during longitudinal accelerations.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning
In addition to forming traction edges, the aforementioned curved and straight grooves perform drainage functions. Due to their significant volume, they easily handle the removal of even large amounts of water, thus providing more reliable traction on wet roads.
High directional stability
Another advantageous distinction of the Dunlop D306 tire for scooters is its high directional stability, which it demonstrates even at very high speeds. This is mainly due to the longitudinal groove that runs exactly along the center of the tread pattern. During movement, it forms two very rigid longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread, each of which has high resistance to dynamic deformation. As a result, the tire, when installed on the front wheel, demonstrates not only excellent directional stability across the entire speed range but also a very short response time to steering, which significantly simplifies the process of controlling the scooter.
Key features of the Dunlop D306 model
- a sports tire whose design harmonizes with the exterior of vintage or classic scooters;
- excellent directional stability and sporty handling due to the central longitudinal groove;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning ensured by the presence of numerous drainage grooves with different orientations and their large internal volume;
- excellent traction in any driving mode due to the large size and invariance of the contact patch shape.
