The Cordiant Polar SL winter non-studded tire, designed for compact passenger cars, is one of the latest developments from one of the leading domestic manufacturers. Currently, the tire is available in more than a dozen of the most popular sizes from 13 to 16 inches. The main distinguishing feature of this model is the latest two-component rubber compound "Smart-Mix", which has significantly improved traction when driving on snowy and icy surfaces, while improving handling and acceleration and braking efficiency on various types of surfaces. In addition to the new rubber compound, the tire boasts a large number of zigzag-shaped lamellas arranged at different angles. This has made it possible to compensate for the lack of studs when driving on icy surfaces.
The symmetrical directional tread pattern of the Cordiant Polar SL features a V-shaped design, the main advantages of which are the even distribution of weight over the entire contact area of the tire and excellent traction parameters, ensured by the multitude of tread block edges. At the same time, the clarity of handling was achieved due to the presence of four longitudinal ribs, including both shoulder areas.
Another feature of this model is the original structure of the drainage system, consisting of three longitudinal grooves and a multitude of transverse channels. The originality of this system lies in the transverse channels, the width of which increases from the center to the edges of the tread. This design solution promotes more intensive removal of meltwater and dirt from the contact patch.
