The Contyre Arctic Ice III winter tire was developed with consideration for the complex road conditions of Russia's northern regions. At the same time, the developers used the experience of their Finnish colleagues, which made it possible to create a tire with more than decent characteristics for its price, especially on snow and ice.
A distinctive feature of the tread pattern design of this model is the structure of its central part, which is almost entirely occupied by a wide longitudinal rib. It has an arrow-shaped form, providing a contact patch with numerous multidirectionally arranged gripping edges. This significantly improves the tire's performance on snow, especially during longitudinal accelerations. In addition, the continuity of the longitudinal rib and its significant width have a positive effect on handling stability and predictability during maneuvers.
Another characteristic feature of the tread of this tire is the sloping shoulder areas. This solution made it possible to further increase resistance to slushplaning. In this regard, it is impossible not to mention the design of the drainage system. Most of its elements are of significant size and are directed against the direction of movement. This allows the tread to handle the removal of not only water but also heavy snow masses from the contact patch.
Key features of Contyre Arctic Ice III tires (Studless)
- a wide arrow-shaped rib in the center improves directional stability, gives the tire's behavior predictability and reliability, and increases performance during longitudinal acceleration;
- sloping shoulder areas and wide drainage grooves provide resistance to slushplaning;
- numerous 3D lamellae ensure reliable handling on ice without compromising other operational properties of the tire.
