A distinctive feature of the Continental ContiWinterContact TS790V winter tire is its highest efficiency on any winter roads. This is ensured by the use of a number of seemingly insignificant innovations in its design. However, each of these "little things" is the result of lengthy research and the use of the most modern technologies, which gives them high performance.
Excellent handling and traction on dry surfaces
This model is equipped with an asymmetric tread pattern. One of its distinctive features is very wide shoulder areas containing a multitude of transverse quadrangular blocks. Due to the large contact area, they provide the tire with increased stability in turns, and thanks to the long transverse edges of the tread, high efficiency, primarily on dry surfaces, and in combination with an elastic compound and at strong frosts.
Excellent traction on snow and ice
The elasticity of the rubber mixture at low temperatures is ensured by the increased content of silica in its composition. This component gives the tire increased traction on ice and snow. A similar effect on operating properties is exerted by several thousand lamellas cut into all tread blocks. At the same time, some of them have an interlocking design, which improves the tire's directional stability on snowy and icy roads.
Main features of the Continental ContiWinterContact TS 790V tire
- shoulder areas of the tread with wide transverse blocks improve stability in turns, provide high performance when braking;
- several types of lamellas not only increase traction on snow and ice, but also directional stability on winter surfaces;
- widened drainage grooves allow you to move confidently in adverse weather conditions, providing excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning.
