Continental ContiVikingContact 7 ContiSilent

The winter tire Continental ContiVikingContact 7 ContiSilent is a special version of the same-name tire. It differs in a reduced level of low-frequency noise and vibrations, providing a higher level of acoustic comfort, especially on roads cleared of snow and ice. In all other respects, the tire is identical to its "basic" version, demonstrating excellent efficiency for its category on snowy and asphalt pavement.

Low noise and vibration

The improved acoustic comfort compared to the standard version is provided by the ContiSilent technology. It involves applying a special layer of noise- and vibration-absorbing material to the inner side of the tire. In this case, polyurethane with a highly porous structure is used. The numerous tiny air-filled cavities, combined with the elasticity of this material, effectively prevent the occurrence of low-frequency noise and vibrations transmitted to the cabin through the body and suspension of the vehicle.

Reliability in difficult road conditions

The tread pattern of the tire is distinguished by an increased number of drainage grooves. They are combined into a network, which significantly increases the intensity of water and its heavy mixture with snow and road dirt removal from the contact patch.

Easy vehicle control

The above-mentioned drainage grooves contain special bridges between the tread blocks. They limit the mobility of the tread elements, as a result of which the traction properties are given additional stability, especially when turning and changing lanes on highways.

"Edge" effect and "snow pockets"

One of the key features of the applied tread pattern is the use of three-dimensional lamellas. Thanks to their original design, these elements have expanded functionality. When in contact with the road surface, they, when opening, form very sharp and high edges, with which the tire effectively grips the wet and icy surface. On rolled snow, such lamellas, forming special "pockets", capture and hold it, additionally strengthening the grip. Since these elements are primarily directed transversely, the greatest influence on handling is exerted when accelerating longitudinally.
