Description Continental ContiTrac Radial ST
The Continental ContiTrac Radial ST summer tire is designed for intense use on any asphalt roads. Regardless of road surface quality, it demonstrates stable traction, intense braking ability, ease of control during maneuvering, smooth ride, and low noise levels even on " rough" asphalt.
The tread pattern features a dense arrangement of elements. In combination with the variable curvature profile of the tire's tread, this significantly increases the contact patch, ensuring even weight distribution of the vehicle on the road surface. In motion, this is felt as stability of traction properties and ease of handling, especially when changing direction. The tread elements are arranged with a certain step relative to each other. This reduces resonant noise and vibration, and also significantly slows down the process of abrasive wear of the tread.
On wet pavement, the tire retains a large reserve of stability. This is due to the large volume and numerousness of grooves. The high intensity of water drainage from under the contact patch allows avoiding aquaplaning even at significant speeds and in heavy rain. Additional traction in such conditions is provided by an elastic compound based on natural rubber and silicon oxide particles.
Key features of Continental ContiTrac Radial ST
- increased contact patch due to variable curvature of the tread profile and increased density of its elements;
- a large number of lamellas increases traction properties on wet pavement;
- wide drainage grooves provide high intensity of excess moisture drainage from the contact patch, allowing to maintain reliability in handling even in heavy rain.
