Description Continental ContiSportContact 5 ContiSeal
The summer tire Continental ContiSportContact 5 ContiSeal has one unique feature. It is able to independently repair damage up to 5 mm in diameter. The technology, called ContiSeal, is based on the physico-chemical properties of the material that covers the inside of the tire. It is able to seal punctures and cuts, thereby preventing loss of pressure, even if the object that caused the damage is removed or lost.
"Macroblocs"
The shoulder areas of the tread have a composite structure, containing many individual elements. They are united by rigid bridges into groups, called "macroblocs". They increase and ensure the stability of the shape and size of the contact patch. In motion, this is manifested in very stable and predictable behavior when maneuvering.
High braking efficiency in any conditions
The tire tread is made of Black Chilli compound. It contains special polymers that, affecting the rubber mixture at the molecular level, change its elasticity. When braking, the tread becomes softer, which reduces the braking distance.
Low rolling resistance and durability
Similarly, the polymers of the Black Chilli compound affect the tread when driving at a constant speed. But since its oscillations are lower in this mode, the rubber mixture becomes harder, thereby reducing rolling resistance and, accordingly, heat, which directly affects the durability of the tread.
Key features of Continental ContiSportContact 5 ContiSeal
- the inside of the tire is covered with a material that seals small damages;
- "macroblocs" of the shoulder areas improve stability when maneuvering;
- the rubber mixture changes its elasticity depending on the driving mode;
- low noise level, thanks to the use of computer simulation technologies in development.
