The Continental ContiProContact GX summer tire is ideal for long car trips over long distances. It is characterized by a quiet and smooth ride, fuel efficiency, resistance to abrasive wear, as well as stable traction at high speeds, handling comfort, and effective braking on dry and wet surfaces.
The tread pattern stands out for its high density of lamella cuts, which is more typical of winter tires. A significant part of them has a "three-dimensional" profile of vertical walls. Special pyramidal protrusions fix the lamellas in the open state when contacting the road surface, while limiting the stiffness of the blocks and ribs in which they are cut. As a result, traction and braking properties on wet surfaces are improved, and the reliability of handling in such modes is ensured. It is worth noting the use of a special rubber compound. This is Silane of one of the latest iterations, which has proven itself well in the all-season tires of the French brand. Such a compound remains elastic at low temperatures, enhancing traction properties on wet surfaces, and avoids drying out and cracking with significant and prolonged heating. Due to the presence of special polymers in the composition, it is resistant to abrasive wear, punctures, and tears.
Another feature of the tire is the profile of its tread. In the center and over a large area of the shoulder zones, it is practically flat, with only the outer edges of the tread having significant rounding using several radii. This solution not only increases the contact patch but also evens out its edges, maintaining shape and size even at significant lateral accelerations. This significantly improves traction stability, both during straight-line movement and maneuvering, providing ease of handling. Additionally, rolling resistance is substantially reduced, and the process of abrasive wear of the tread is slowed down, increasing the lifespan of the tire.
Main features of Continental ContiProContact GX
- a large number of 3D and straight lamellas provide reliable handling on wet surfaces;
- an increased volume of longitudinal grooves minimizes the risk of aquaplaning;
- an optimized tread profile and increased breaker stiffness improve traction and handling, reduce fuel consumption and wear.
