The Continental ContiIceContact 3 ContiSilent winter tire is designed for a wide range of passenger cars. Structurally, it represents a special version of the same model, differing from it in improved acoustic comfort. It is favorably distinguished from the overwhelming majority of similar tires of other brands by its excellent efficiency on any slippery surfaces and the ability to maintain it throughout its entire service life, which, compared to the tire of the previous generation, has been significantly increased.

Innovative stud

This model with sizes for wheels from 17 inches is equipped with a stud made using ContiFlexStud technology. The essence of the innovation lies in the design of the carbide insert, which directly contacts the road surface. It is located inside an elastic shell that provides some mobility to the steel element. This made it possible to significantly improve the efficiency of force transmission from the tire to the road surface. As a result, it was possible to improve not only the traction properties, but also the acoustic comfort, since a significant part of the low-frequency vibrations from the studs are absorbed by their shell. In addition, the level of aggressive impact on the road surface and the risk of steel elements falling out of the tread are reduced.

Exceptional acoustic comfort

The use of the ContiSilent phrase in the name of this model means the application of the same technology in its design, designed to reduce the noise level. The tool for achieving this goal is a special polyurethane foam, a layer of which is applied to the inner side of the tire. The numerous voids of this highly porous material with excellent efficiency absorb noise and vibrations that occur due to the rolling of the tire and the contact of various elements of the tread with the road surface.
