The winter tire Continental ContiIceContact 2 ContiSeal is designed for passenger cars. The model is developed taking into account the climatic conditions of North European countries and Russia. It is characterized by improved traction properties on ice, reliability, and a long service life.
Self-healing of damage
This model is equipped with the ContiSeal system. Its application is due to the fact that the tire is designed for cars that do not have a spare wheel in their equipment. Its alternative is a special viscous and sticky material that covers the inside of the tire. In case of through damages with a diameter of up to 0.5 cm, it pulls into them, restoring the seal.
Optimized studding system
The tire demonstrates significantly better traction on ice than the previous generation model. This is due to the arrangement of the studs in such a way that the maximum possible number of them is in contact with the road surface. It practically does not change throughout the entire service life. The studs are additionally fixed with a special adhesive material. Also, around the places of their installation, there are so-called "pockets". With their help, ice crumbs are crushed and removed from the tungsten carbide insert. This significantly increases the efficiency of its operation, especially during longitudinal accelerations.
