Continental ContiEcoContact 5 ContiSeal

The Continental ContiEcoContact 5 ContiSeal summer tire is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars that do not have a spare wheel. It represents a special version of the same model, equipped with a damage elimination system.

Minor punctures are not a problem

The key feature of the tire is its ability to self-heal mechanical damage that compromises its sealing. This is made possible by a special coating on the inner liner, made of a viscous and sticky material. It seals the hole by entering it along with the air escaping from the tire at high speed when punctured, thus sealing it. The diameter of such damage can be up to 5 mm.

Reduced rolling resistance

Another distinctive feature of this model is reduced rolling resistance. It is achieved through a range of technical solutions, most of which are related to the design of the carcass and sidewalls. They are almost entirely made of synthetic materials, which significantly reduced the weight of the tire while maintaining its high strength and reliability. Progressive methods of cord winding were also used, ensuring a very dense arrangement of fibers. Additionally, the sidewalls are located inside a rigid rubber shell, which increased their resistance to deformative effects.
