DescriptionDescription Continental ContiCrossContact LX20
The Continental ContiCrossContact LX20 summer tire, like its popular predecessor CrossContact LX, is distinguished by its universal scope of application, being perfectly suited for both comfortable highway driving and off-road adventures. However, thanks to significant changes in design and the widespread application of the latest technologies, this new model demonstrates much better operating and consumer qualities. As for the target audience of this model, as before, it includes owners of medium-sized and large SUVs and crossovers of various brands and model years.
EcoPlus Technology
One of the distinctive features of this model is the presence of EcoPlus technology. Its main functional purpose is to provide reduced fuel consumption and an extended service life. These benefits were achieved by adding polymers of a new generation to the rubber compound. As a result, according to the manufacturer's statements, the saved fuel can cover a distance of around 3,000 kilometers. At the same time, the tire's service life is at least 70,000 kilometers. In addition, the new components of the rubber compound made it possible to significantly reduce the braking distance on a wet surface, outperforming most similar models from competing brands.
Smooth Response Technology
During independent tests, the Continental ContiCrossContact LX20 model demonstrated lightning-fast responses to steering wheel turns. This is largely due to the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, or rather its central longitudinal rib, which has a complex composite structure without any interruptions throughout its length. Thanks to this feature, this tread element has very high deformation resistance, ensuring extremely fast reactions to steering wheel turns, which, in turn, makes the vehicle handling process much easier.
Multiple Tread Edges
As mentioned earlier, this model is suitable not only for highway driving but also for off-road use. In these conditions, it is crucial that the contact patch has the maximum possible number of tread edges. The German tire manufacturers were able to solve this problem by equipping the tread with multiple individual blocks. During movement, they form a large number of sharp edges that effectively grip the surface with a low friction coefficient.
However, the increased number of tread edges, especially those located transversely to the direction of movement, creates increased rolling resistance. To neutralize this disadvantage, the German tire manufacturers equipped the tread with a wide longitudinal rib in the center and two smaller ribs located in the shoulder areas. In addition to reducing rolling resistance, this solution made it possible to ensure a more even distribution of external weight across the contact patch, which had a very beneficial effect on most of the tire's key operating characteristics, ranging from resistance to uneven wear to stable handling.
Key Advantages of the Continental ContiCrossContact LX20 Tire
- excellent fuel efficiency, increased resistance to abrasive wear thanks to special polymers in the rubber compound;
- excellent off-road performance due to the numerous tread edges formed by multiple blocks;
- high level of acoustic comfort, clear and fast responses to steering wheel turns, thanks to the high stiffness of the central part of the tread and the optimal placement of tread elements;
- short braking distance on a wet surface, thanks to the combination of an optimized symmetrical non-directional tread pattern and a new rubber compound.

I spent a long time choosing summer tires for my Pajero 4. I've read a lot of reviews and finally stopped on this model. I bought a set for 640 euros. I have a US production. One side has white lettering, the other standard black - I chose the white one on the face. The tread depth of the new rubber is 9.5 mm. I put the tire on in early March, as the temperature in our region was around

I bought tires that would allow me to occasionally drive off the asphalt and be confident that I could return to the road. My hopes were justified. On the highway, it's not noisy. It confidently holds the road. It doesn't react to ruts. I'm satisfied with the purchase.
