The Centara Winter CX636 is a winter non-studded tyre designed for crossovers and SUVs. The model features an asymmetric tread pattern in which dense longitudinal ribs combine with numerous transverse sipes. The design is oriented towards performance on winter roads: large tread elements provide support, while thin cuts and grooves create biting edges and channels for water evacuation.
Asymmetric central zone
The longitudinal tread sections differ in the width and shape of their transverse cuts. One row features slanted grooves, while another has jagged edges extending into adjacent tread areas. This arrangement creates edges of varying orientation, which function during acceleration, braking, and lateral loading. At the same time, the dense layout of the central elements maintains a large contact area with the road surface.
Sipes for snow traction
Thin sipes run through the central and shoulder blocks, forming numerous closely spaced edges. They enhance the performance of the larger grooves when driving on snow. In the shoulder areas, the sipes are primarily oriented across the tread, so their edges contribute to transmitting longitudinal forces during acceleration and deceleration.
Water evacuation and cornering stability
Continuous longitudinal grooves draw water from the contact patch, while transverse shoulder channels provide evacuation to the edges of the tyre. This network is designed for driving on wet asphalt and melting snow. Wide shoulder blocks between the channels form a supporting surface that withstands lateral forces during turns and lane changes.
