The Bridgestone Turanza GR80 summer tire belongs to the so-called "representative" category, i.e. this model is designed for sedans and wagons of the middle class. This tire is the result of the application of Uni-T AQII technology, the main component of which is computer modeling methods that have replaced millions of kilometers of real tests.
The main characteristic feature of the Bridgestone Turanza GR80 tire is the preservation of the main operational qualities throughout its lifespan. This was achieved thanks to a design solution from the world of motorsports. We are talking about a two-layer tread. The inner layer is made of a more elastic rubber compound. Over time, the upper layer gradually wears out and the softer rubber takes over, which with its increased elasticity almost completely compensates for the deterioration of the tire's operational characteristics, except, of course, for its resistance to aquaplaning. However, this is the only drawback, the main reason for which is the reduction of the tread depth.
The main features of the Bridgestone Turanza GR80 model
- The optimized design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern using Uni-T AQII technology provides excellent traction in any conditions;
- Low noise level thanks to the Silent C.S.C technology, which consists of a special shape of the tread blocks and the presence of two straight grooves that reduce the vibration load on the tire;
- Soft ride due to the use of a new, more elastic filler in the outer part of the tire sidewall, which not only reduces vibrations from the road but also provides reliable connection of the tire to the wheel rim;
- The increased blocks of the shoulder zones of the tread contribute to a more even distribution of the load over the contact patch, which increases the resistance to uneven wear;
- The Dual Layer Tread II technology, due to the increased stiffness of the tread blocks, provides excellent handling even with significant tread wear;
- The Robust technology, which is a rounded profile of the shoulder zones of the tread, provides stability of the contact patch size regardless of the driving mode, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability and handling, especially when making sharp maneuvers.
