The Bridgestone Potenza S007 summer tire is designed for the most dynamic versions of passenger cars. It was developed based on the S001 model, representing its upgraded version. It differs from it with improved handling, speed and accuracy of response to steering wheel turns, even on a wet surface.
Stability on a wet surface
One of the features of the tire's tread pattern is the structure of the lamellas. Their vertical walls have an M-shaped form. It increases the resistance of the blocks to deformation. The slots create additional edges that allow the tire to better grip the wet surface. The M-shaped form of the lamellas allows combining this property with the accuracy of control and stability of the coupling properties.
Lightning-fast reactions to driver actions
As in the previous model, a wide solid rib is located in the center of the tread. This element, with the ability to minimally deform under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces, provides very fast and accurate reactions of the tire to steering. As a result, control over the car is significantly simplified, especially at high speeds and during dynamic maneuvering.
Reliability of coupling in any driving modes
To a significant extent, the effectiveness of the tire at high speeds and during dynamic maneuvering is due to the properties of its internal design. The breaker located above the carcass contains an additional synthetic cord that ensures the immobility of the tread elements. It also has a rigid fixation in the form of two strips of aramid fibers located under the shoulder zones. All these components made it possible to significantly increase the reliability of the coupling even under extreme loads.
