The Bridgestone Potenza RE88 summer tire, like other representatives of this line, combines a high level of comfort and sport-tuned handling. Five longitudinal ribs

The tread pattern of this model features an open design consisting of many separate elements. They are arranged in such a way that when moving, they form five wide continuous longitudinal ribs. This design feature gives the tire excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance.

Optimized distribution of external load on the contact patch

Another advantage of the 5-rib design of this tire is the optimized distribution of external pressure on the contact patch. In combination with the multi-radius profile of the tread, this not only reduces the likelihood of uneven wear but also gives the contact patch a practically square shape, which remains virtually unchanged due to the increased stiffness of the carcass even under the influence of very significant acceleration forces. The ultimate result of this solution is very stable and predictable handling in any conditions.

The use of an open design made it possible to maximize the number of traction edges, and with it, several key operational properties of the tire. First and foremost, this is a very high efficiency during acceleration and braking, especially on wet roads. Additionally, numerous longitudinal and transverse drainage grooves run between the blocks, providing high resistance to aquaplaning.
