Description Bridgestone Blizzak WS70
The Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 winter non-studded tire is one of the latest models from the Japanese manufacturer, known in our country primarily for its studded-free winter models. Like any new tire, its design features a number of advanced technologies and materials.
Tube Multicell Technology
One of these design features is a compound created using the Tube Multicell technology. Its distinctive feature is the presence of microscopic tubular voids in the rubber mixture. When in contact with an icy road surface, they dry the contact patch, which significantly improves traction and largely compensates for the lack of studs. At the same time, the NanoPro-tech technology provides the tread with excellent elasticity even at very low temperatures.
3D Lamellae
The overwhelming majority of traction edges are formed not by numerous tread blocks, but by lamellae cut into them. Their number has been significantly increased thanks to the design of their walls, which have edges in all three projections. This allows them to be firmly fixed between each other when the lamella comes into contact with the road surface, which leads to an increase in the block's stiffness and the formation of multiple traction edges. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates confident and reliable behavior on any icy surface.
Key Features of Bridgestone Blizzak WS70
- The compound created using Tube Multicell and NanoPro-tech technologies significantly improves traction on icy surfaces, largely compensating for the lack of studs;
- Several thousand traction edges formed by numerous 3D lamellae provide excellent handling on ice and rolled snow;
- The zigzag longitudinal tread rib in the central part of the tread improves directional stability and handling, as well as increases traction properties;
- Four wide drainage grooves effectively remove not only water but also meltwater from the contact patch, providing a maximum level of safety in adverse weather conditions.
