The Bridgestone Blizzak W965 commercial tire is a full-fledged representative of the popular worldwide line of winter tires from the Japanese manufacturer. It demonstrates excellent operating characteristics on any winter roads, which remain so throughout its entire service life. It is very durable, thanks to a number of technical solutions, which will be discussed below.
Increased number of Bridgestone Blizzak W965 traction edges
A distinctive feature of the tread of this model is the presence of a very large number of traction edges. A significant part of them is formed by numerous blocks, the number of which has been increased due to a decrease in size. It is also impossible not to note the presence of special lamellas in them. During movement, they form several thousand additional traction edges. At the same time, the wavy shape of their walls limits the transverse mobility of the blocks, which in turn improves directional stability.
Microporous compound
The Bridgestone Blizzak W965 uses many solutions that have previously proven their effectiveness on passenger tires of the Blizzak line. One of them is the Multi-Cell compound. It has a microporous structure, thanks to which the tread has the ability to absorb moisture from the icy surface, which significantly increases the grip with it. At the same time, the special technology of preparing the rubber mixture ensures an even distribution of micropores, thanks to which this feature is demonstrated by the tire even with a significant degree of tread wear.
It is also impossible not to note the presence of a significant amount of silica in the compound composition, of which it, in fact, consists for the most part. This component provides the tread with excellent elasticity, and therefore improved traction properties even in severe frosts.
Main features:
- numerous small-sized tread blocks improve the Bridgestone Blizzak W965 traction on snow;
- special wavy lamellas form several thousand additional traction edges, which, in turn, give stability and reliability to the traction properties on rolled snow and ice;
- a microporous rubber compound with a high silica content provides excellent traction on any icy roads throughout the entire service life of the tire.
