Bridgestone Blizzak RFT
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Bridgestone Blizzak RFT
Winter tire for passenger cars Bridgestone Blizzak RFT is offered on our market in three options. They differ from each other exclusively in the design of the tread pattern. Depending on the option, it is completely identical to the winter models from the Revo line - 1, 2 and GZ. In turn, their modifications with the RFT abbreviation in the name differ from the "originals" exclusively in the design of the tread itself, the carcass and the composition of the rubber mixture. All changes are aimed at ensuring the possibility of operating the tire in the event of a loss of pressure inside due to a puncture or cut.
Reinforced rim construction
This model is distinguished by a reinforced rim construction, the basis of which is a rim ring of increased size. This provides a more secure fixation of the tire on the wheel disk.
Special filler in the tire sidewalls
The design of the sidewalls of this tire is distinguished by a hollow structure. Their internal space contains a special filler. It is characterized by increased stiffness and resistance to deformation. This allows the tire to maintain its original shape in the event of a loss of hermeticity. In addition, this filler is characterized by increased heat resistance, which preserves its integrity during movement. In this regard, it is impossible not to note the presence of an additional outer layer of sidewalls. It reduces the level of heating of the tire during movement.
Heat-resistant rubber mixture
The rubber mixture used in this model is significantly different in its composition from the compound used in the production of ordinary Blizzak Revo tires. It includes a number of components that prevent excessive heating of the tire during movement after a puncture and loss of hermeticity.
Main features of the Bridgestone Blizzak RFT tire
- three options for execution (for the domestic market), differing from each other in the design of the tread pattern;
- reinforced rim construction provides a more secure fixation of the tire on the wheel disk, preventing the appearance of mechanical damage;
- sidewalls with a special filler and a heat-insulating layer provide the possibility of operating the tire in the event of a loss of hermeticity;
- thanks to special components, the rubber mixture reduces the level of heating of the tire during movement after a puncture.

I had to get both Summer RunFlats and winter tires as the spare wasn’t included. I chose Goodyear Bridgestone as I believe they have the most advanced winter tire technology. The tires have been for about 30,000 km now, with only about 15% wear, and the car handles wonderfully on any road. It accelerates, corners, and brakes very well. The rear-wheel drive is extremely reliable, whether I’m accelerating or cornering in heavy traffic on a

This Super Puper tire was run in for 1.5 thousand km after which it was simply quiet in the morning and you could not hear it in the cabin. On any winter road the car is responsive to steering, always safely exiting the ruts, on overtaking on a slippery road it grips well. It brakes well, on an icy road the car was never uncontrolled, a clear predictable stop.

Sidewalls do not bulge even when fully deflated. At the same time, a soft, comfortable and silent ride is ensured. A well-thought-out combination of strength and softness. No complaints about handling either. I don't do figure skating, but emergency driving with RFT is quite possible.
