The winter non-studded tire Bridgestone Blizzak LM80 is one of the newest products from the renowned Japanese manufacturer, which has appeared on sale on the eve of the new season. This model was initially developed for countries in Central Europe, where winter conditions can be called confident. However, numerous tests have shown that this tire is perfectly suitable for territories with a more severe climate, including our country. A distinctive feature of this model is its scope of application. Mainly, the tire is designed for vehicles with increased passability with a wheel diameter of 15 to 20 inches.
Japanese tire makers have equipped this model with a V-shaped directional tread pattern. A characteristic feature of the tread is the increased number of edges that provide traction. The large number of tread blocks allows for excellent traction on any slippery winter surface due to the countless number of edges that provide traction, formed by them. Also, it is impossible not to note the presence in the central part of the tread of a rigid and solid rib with wavy edges. High structural rigidity and massive sizes of the rib provide excellent directional stability, maneuverability, and reduced rolling resistance. At the same time, the wavy edges contribute to a reduction in the level of resonant noise.
At the same time, the surface of the central rib is equipped with straight lamellas, which, working like car windshield wipers, remove excess moisture from the contact patch, thereby ensuring traction when driving on wet asphalt. In addition, the tread of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM80 tire is also equipped with two other types of lamellas. On the tread blocks, also located in the central part of the pattern, there are three-dimensional self-locking lamellas, which, by forming additional edges that provide traction, increase the stiffness of the blocks. The shoulder areas of the tread have S-shaped lamellas that provide similar functions.
Main characteristics of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM80 model
