Description Bridgestone B371
The Bridgestone B371 summer tire boasts an extremely attractive price-to-quality ratio for a high-tech foreign product. This is largely due to the use of only those design solutions that have minimally impacted the tire's production cost. At the same time, this has not affected the tire's operational and consumer qualities, which are at a sufficiently high level.
4-rib tread pattern
Unlike many modern tires, the Bridgestone B371 tread pattern features only four longitudinal ribs. The reduction in the number of tread elements has allowed them to be made more massive, which in turn has led to an improvement in a range of the tire's operational qualities. First and foremost, this concerns the Bridgestone B371's traction properties on dry asphalt, ensured by the increased contact patch. Additionally, it is worth noting the relatively low rolling resistance, which was also achieved primarily due to the reduction in the number of individual tread elements.
Open design of the central part of the tread pattern
Among other distinctive features of the tread pattern of this tire, it is worth noting the design of its central part. It consists of two wide longitudinal ribs, each of which is a series of separate blocks of a quadrangular shape. During movement, they create a multitude of sharp edges, thanks to which the tire demonstrates decent traction properties in the longitudinal direction.
Reinforced shoulder areas
The shoulder areas of the tread pattern of this tire feature a reinforced design, which has provided it with a number of important advantages. First and foremost, this is increased stability when cornering. Additionally, the high deformation resistance of this part of the tread has had a very favorable effect on the distribution of external weight across the contact patch – it has become optimal, which has allowed the likelihood of wear on individual parts of the tread to be significantly reduced.
Main features of the Bridgestone B371 summer tire
- an extremely attractive price-to-quality ratio for a foreign tire, which is due to the use of inexpensive but highly effective technical solutions in its design;
- the two wide longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread provide high directional stability, as well as stable and reliable behavior in turns;
- the reinforced shoulder areas increase resistance to lateral skidding, ensuring a more even distribution of external weight across the contact patch, while also giving it a practically rectangular shape;
- the open design of the central part of the tread has allowed for improved traction properties in the longitudinal direction, as well as reduced the likelihood of aquaplaning on wet roads.
