Description Bridgestone B340
In contrast to most other representatives of the so-called B-series, the summer passenger tire Bridgestone B340 is designed for more powerful and high-speed passenger cars of compact and medium class. Its enhanced grip properties are due to a number of technical solutions, some of which were borrowed from Ultra High Performance models. At the same time, the B340 has managed to preserve, perhaps, the main advantage of B-series tires, namely, an attractive price-quality ratio.
Dual Central Rib
At the very center of the 5-rib tread pattern is a very rigid longitudinal rib, divided into two equal parts by a narrow drainage groove. Despite its extremely simple appearance, this tread element performs a number of very important functions. This became possible due to the combination of two factors - location and very high deformation resistance.
First of all, it is excellent directional stability when driving at very high speeds. Another task successfully solved with the help of the dual central rib is to provide lightning-fast responses to steering wheel turns. As a result, the Bridgestone B340 tire has acquired excellent stability, reliability, and predictability in its reactions, which significantly simplifies the process of controlling the vehicle.
Open Tread Pattern Design
Among other interesting features of the tread pattern of this model, it is impossible not to mention the open design of the tread pattern. Due to this, the tire's contact patch has a large number of gripping edges formed by numerous individual blocks at any given time. They are located both in the central part of the tread and in its shoulder zones. The central blocks provide high traction properties in the longitudinal direction, and their analogs in the shoulder zones have made it possible to significantly reduce the braking distance, especially on wet roads.
Main Features of the Bridgestone B340 Summer Tire
- excellent directional stability and stability when driving at high speeds, thanks to the dual central rib;
- a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern optimized for prolonged high-speed driving;
- massive blocks in the shoulder zones of the tread provide reliable grip when cornering, as well as high braking efficiency;
- the open design of the tread pattern has allowed the tire to be equipped with a developed drainage system, the multitude of longitudinal and transverse channels of which provide it with excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
