Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Белшина Бел-188
The Belshina Bel-188 winter passenger tire is one of the novelties of the well-known Belarusian manufacturer in our country. This model is designed for modern compact class passenger cars, providing them with a high level of safety on any winter roads.
Rigid Central Rib
A distinctive feature of the tread pattern of this tire is a very wide longitudinal rib located in its center. This tread element, due to its high resistance to dynamic deformations, provides excellent directional stability at any speed, low rolling resistance, and quick response to steering wheel control.
V-Shaped Arrangement of Tread Blocks
One of the characteristic features of the Belshina Bel-188 tire is the V-shaped arrangement of the tread elements. This tread pattern demonstrates its strongest features on slippery winter surfaces, while also boasting increased fuel efficiency.
Cross-Shaped Slits
The tire owes its excellent traction properties on snowy surfaces to the special structure of the shoulder areas of the tread. In this part of the tread pattern, there are many cross-shaped slits that, when moving on snow, capture it, thereby providing increased traction. Since their size is quite large, by the time of the next contact with the road surface, they are completely free from snow masses, which also has a positive effect on stability when driving on snowy roads.
High Density of Lamination
Since the Belarusian tire makers, when developing this model, chose to do without studs, they used lamination to compensate for their absence, evenly covering the entire tread pattern with it. Thanks to the wavy shape, the company's specialists were able to significantly increase the number of lamellas, and with it, the number of formed traction edges, which, in turn, provided the tire with reliable handling on ice.
Main Features of the Belshina Bel-188 Tire
- a rigid central rib improves directional stability at high speeds, gives the handling a sporty precision and unambiguity of response, reduces rolling resistance;
- a symmetrical directional tread pattern with a V-shaped arrangement of elements is optimized for operation on any winter surfaces;
- excellent traction properties on snow and ice, thanks to the multitude of traction edges formed by the numerous blocks and lamellas, the wavy edges of which improve handling on asphalt.

I like it. Winter tires for Sevastopol aren't necessary but yesterday I checked, it was snow with rain, and the car was stable on the road.

Went through a season on a Renault 19. Although mileage was not high, a certain mixed opinion developed. A strong tire with a good strong sidewall, very soft and yet extremely durable. Very well grips in snow, does not particularly freeze in strong frost. Predicted snowfall, braking and traction on ice. However, there is another side to the coin. Very heavy, noisy, very "wobbly", so the car is very jumpy, especially at speed, with it
