All-season tire Barnaul Ya 245 was created specifically for the UAZ-450 car and its modifications. The development was carried out by specialists of the Yaroslavl tire factory, which after the change of ownership transferred the production of many models, including this one, to the Altai enterprise, where it is still produced today. The tire has many advantages in addition to its low cost, ranging from the possibility of operation throughout the year to its decent efficiency on asphalt and dirt roads.
Aggressive design of the shoulder areas
When creating the tread pattern of the tire, the features of operation and design of UAZ cars were taken into account. Part of this information was used in the design of the shoulder areas. They contain many trapezoidal blocks installed transversely. Such an arrangement allows them to improve several operational properties of the tire. The most obvious of these are the traction properties on surfaces with low bearing capacity. In such conditions, the shoulder blocks act as off-road hooks, allowing the engine's torque to be transmitted to the surface. On the highway, these elements, thanks to their transverse arrangement, improve stability during maneuvering and steering accuracy, which significantly increases the level of driving comfort.
"Cargo" central part
One of the characteristic features of the central part design is that it looks exactly like a cargo tire. Here, three wide longitudinal ribs are located. All of them have a solid, non-composite structure, which makes it exceptionally resistant to deformation. This solution allowed to significantly reduce the rolling resistance, while increasing the directional stability, accuracy, and responsiveness of the tire to the driver's actions.
At the same time, the developers managed to give the longitudinal ribs multifunctionality. They have a zigzag shape, which allows them to form additional edges when moving. This significantly improves the tire's traction properties on both dry and wet asphalt.
Increased reliability
With the transfer of tire production to the Altai enterprise, it received several important design changes. One of them was the appearance of a full-metal breaker. This component is a tightly woven steel mesh located directly under the tread. Such a "substrate" is characterized by high stiffness and mechanical strength, which reduces the risk of damage even with very strong impact effects. In turn, protection against punctures and cuts is ensured by the physical properties of the rubber compound. It has significant strength and elongation at break. It is also worth noting that this model is equipped with a camera, which significantly increases the reliability of the tire off-road.
