Similar elements are used in the shoulder areas, where they, in addition to increasing stability during cornering, reduce noise. It is worth noting the large number of drainage elements. The unidirectional grooves effectively combat aquaplaning, preventing the formation of a continuous water film in the contact patch at almost any speed.
