S-shaped design of a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern
When developing the Austone CSR62 model, the specialists of the Chinese company tried to maintain a balance between coupling properties and other no less important operational qualities, in particular, fuel efficiency. The most preferred choice was a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern with an S-shaped design.
It is formed due to very long transverse edges of a wavy shape that stretch from one shoulder zone to another. Their significant length in combination with the location at different angles relative to the direction of movement, on the one hand, allowed to significantly improve the efficiency during acceleration and braking, and on the other hand, to reduce the rolling resistance and the level of resonant noise and vibration.
Low-radius tread profile
This model is distinguished by reduced rolling resistance. To a large extent, this is due to the shape of the tread profile, which was calculated using computer modeling tools. The use of digital technologies made it possible to select the optimal profile radius, which led to an improvement in the parameters of load distribution over the contact patch. In combination with the diagonal arrangement of most of the coupling edges, this ensured the tire had excellent fuel efficiency without compromising other operational characteristics.
