The Amtel Planet Evo summer tire for passenger cars is one of the practical results of optimization of production at the tire plants in Voronezh and Kirov, which were recently acquired by the Italians from Pirelli. Now, these domestic enterprises will produce several tires oriented towards a specific "target audience" instead of many similar models. This model is designed for small and medium-sized cars, for which it is offered in several dozen sizes. In addition to excellent applicability, it is beneficially distinguished from its numerous predecessors by higher operational properties, which is due to the use of advanced technologies and modern materials in its design.

Low noise and vibration level

This novelty of the domestic tire industry is characterized by a very high level of acoustic comfort. To reduce the noise and vibration level, the developers had to use a number of technical solutions that mainly affected the design of the tread pattern. All its elements are arranged in such a way that during movement, they minimize the risk of occurrence and development of resonant noise and vibrations.

In addition, the longitudinal drainage grooves have a rounded profile and a completely smooth surface. Thanks to this, the developers were able to significantly reduce the noise that occurs when air passes through them at high speed.

Multifunctional drainage grooves

In addition to improving the level of acoustic comfort, the longitudinal drainage grooves, due to their original design, improve a number of other important operational properties. First of all, this is the drainage of water from the contact patch. The semi-circular shape and smooth surface significantly increase the throughput of the drainage grooves, which has a positive effect on the resistance to aquaplaning.

Another advantage of such a drainage groove design is the increased stability of the longitudinal ribs and the blocks that make them up to dynamic deformation. This feature improves directional stability and handling.

Effective asymmetric tread pattern

The developers of this model did not choose to equip it with an asymmetric tread pattern by chance. This decision is due to its versatility, i.e., high performance in any road and weather conditions. Such "omnivorousness" is explained by the fact that the tread is divided into several functional areas, each of which performs a strictly defined set of functions.

In particular, the shoulder zones of the Amtel Planet Evo tread improve longitudinal traction and stability when cornering and making sharp maneuvers. These operational characteristics are provided due to the transverse arrangement and significant width of the blocks located here. They have excellent resistance to deformation, which helps the tire maintain stability at significant lateral accelerations, and thanks to the formed transverse edges of the contact, they improve the transmission of traction and braking properties to the road surface.
