The special Michelin Xtra Load Protect A4 E4 tire is used on dump trucks applied in open-pit mining. It is a "quarry" model adapted to operation on solid rocky soils. In such conditions, it is distinguished by reliable traction, increased cyclic speed, carrying capacity and strength, and a long service life.
The tread pattern has a combined design. Its central part is a very wide solid longitudinal rib made up of densely arranged P-shaped blocks. This significantly reduces rolling resistance and heating during high-speed movement, ensuring good directional stability, handling comfort, especially on solid ground surfaces. The shoulder areas are made open and contain individual blocks. Their edges provide stable traction and braking intensity on the ground.
