Description Continental CraneMaster
The Continental CraneMaster tyre is designed for port equipment, the specifics of which involve a combination of extremely high weight loads and low-speed operation. Its primary application is for rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) container cranes, as well as other equipment that must manoeuvre almost in place with heavy loads. The model's design is focused on reducing the loads that occur during intense steering, maintaining stability, and increasing the lifespan in a continuous working cycle.
Tread pattern designed for constant manoeuvring
The tread pattern is a combination of narrow blocks with continuous transverse S-shaped edges. Due to this geometry, the elements partially overlap each other when moving, which, in combination with their arrangement, significantly reduces internal stresses in the tread during turns, preventing the formation of cracks. At the same time, the tread pattern maintains sufficient stiffness, ensuring a precise response to steering. The large contact patch width forms a stable support platform, allowing for safe movement of containers and other heavy loads without significant deterioration of stability.
Design for operation under extreme loads
The model features a special technology that combines damping properties with mechanical strength due to the use of a large number of cross-arranged polymer cords in the carcass. This gives the design resistance to deformation while maintaining elasticity, albeit within a certain range. This solution reduces the likelihood of mechanical damage, decreases heat generation, and contributes to an increase in the tyre's lifespan.
Reliable support when moving heavy loads
Another feature is the significant width of the contact surface. This reduces the pressure on the tyre and limits the equipment's oscillations when lifting and transporting containers. At the same time, the risk of overheating and crack formation in the tread is reduced, increasing operational reliability.
Key features of the Continental CraneMaster:
- The tread with continuous transverse S-shaped edges reduces stresses during on-the-spot turns, decreasing the risk of crack formation;
- The wide contact patch forms a stable support platform when working with heavy loads at low speeds;
- The V.ply technology with a multi-layered polymer carcass increases the sidewall strength, resistance to deformation, and operational lifespan;
- The tyre design limits heat generation and maintains stable characteristics over a long lifespan.
