The abbreviation in the name of the GTS tire is composed of the capital letters of the English phrase Grand Tourismo Sport, which in this case means the presence of an ideal balance between sporty handling and a high level of riding comfort. This is largely due to the tread pattern, which contains many drainage grooves that divide it into separate functional zones, each of which provides a solution to a strictly defined set of tasks.
The central part of the Pirelli GTS24 tread pattern is characterized by high structural rigidity, making it resistant to dynamic deformations. This feature has been further enhanced by a special profile shape, which was "borrowed" from other sports touring models of the Italian tire giant. At the same time, the curved shape of the drainage grooves has made it possible to significantly increase the speed of water removal from the contact patch, which has significantly increased the performance of the entire water drainage system as a whole.
