The Pirelli GTS23 motorcycle tire has a number of distinctive features that make it unique compared to most other tire products from this Italian manufacturer. The fact is that the prototype of this tire was the models for motorcycles in the "sport-touring" category. As a result, the GTS23 demonstrates similar behavior on the highway.
Excellent stability at high speed
The first thing that catches your eye at first glance is the tread pattern of this model. It is more characteristic of large sports "tourings" than of small-displacement scooter equipment. The Italian tire manufacturers have equipped the Pirelli GTS23 with a "signature" V-shaped symmetrical tread pattern with an unprecedentedly large number of individual elements. One of them is a double central rib formed by three wavy drainage grooves. This tread element, thanks to its solid design, has very high stiffness, which ensures excellent directional stability when moving in a straight line. At the same time, the large size of the double central rib significantly increases the contact patch size, which has a very beneficial effect on the traction properties.
Durable carcass
The carcass design was also largely borrowed from motorcycle tires. It contains several layers, thanks to which the tire "holds" its shape even at significant lateral accelerations, while being distinguished by increased resistance to punctures and cuts, as well as to uneven wear. Thanks to this, the GTS23 is distinguished not only by stable handling but also by a very long service life.
Main features of the Pirelli GTS23 motorcycle tire
- a symmetrical V-shaped tread pattern optimized for high-speed movement, providing excellent directional stability, both in a straight line and when cornering;
- a double central rib improves stability, simplifies the handling process, and also increases traction properties due to the increased contact patch size;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning due to the large number, location, and volume of drainage grooves;
- sporty-honed handling, thanks to a very stiff and durable carcass, due to which the tire is distinguished by high resistance to dynamic deformation.
