The Mitas XT-454 motorcycle tire was specifically designed for off-road motorcycles that operate entirely on heavy terrain. At the same time, it is intended for installation exclusively on the rear wheel. Also, it is worth noting the possibility of using it in cold weather. Specifically for these purposes, the Czech manufacturer offers this model in three versions. In addition to the standard version, two more modifications are available for sale - with spikes (Spike) and with places for their installation (Winter Friction).
Excellent traction and coupling properties in the longitudinal direction
The tread pattern of the Mitas XT-454 tire is divided into several functional zones, the design features of which are due to the need to provide maximum performance under various operating conditions. In particular, the central part of the tread consists of very massive blocks with a quadrangular shape, arranged in a checkerboard pattern. During movement, they form a large number of transversely arranged engagement edges. At the same time, they have a sufficiently pronounced curvature. All this together provides the tire with excellent traction and coupling properties in the longitudinal direction.
Self-cleaning ability
Another feature of the tread pattern of this model is excellent self-cleaning indicators. They were achieved due to the large distance between individual tread elements. It is large enough for the tread to independently get rid of even large foreign objects, as well as to prevent the so-called "clogging" that occurs when driving on wet earth soils.
